Our Quality Management System is the platform that we leverage to assure product safety, compliance with quality standards and to create value for consumers. Our internal Quality Management System is audited and verified by independent certification bodies to prove conformity to HACCP, CODEX Standards, FSSAI Schedule IV requirements, other countries and community specific requirements like Halal, Kosher, etc. and food safety standards like FSSC 22000.
Consumer safety and product quality compliance is at the core of the Panacea Biotec’s growth strategy. Our Commitment to Quality starts with procurement – we ensure that only high quality raw materials are used and nutritional value of finished products is preserved until your last scoop. We use qualified ingredients, approved suppliers and follow applicable regulations issued by regulatory authorities. Our products are traceable through GS1 Global system to bring supply chain visibility, operational efficiency, and consumer/patient safety in the distribution system, which enables us to quickly trace, investigate and address any potential concerns in the marketplace.
Quality by Design
Quality is built-in during product development by following food safety and regulatory requirements.
We apply strict quality standards throughout our innovation process: from ideation, research activities and ingredient selection, to the way products are manufactured, packaged and stored.
- Zip-locked packaging with Nitrogen flushing to prevent oxidation of fats, foul odour, and to enhance shelf-life
- We conduct a number of quality tests covering contaminants, pathogens and nutritional claims performed for our products including all raw materials, in-process, and finished quality control parameters
Good Manufacturing Practices
We apply internationally recognized Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure quality and product safety. GMP covers all aspects of manufacturing and packaging operations, people management and training, use of standard operating procedures for equipment operations, cleaning and preventive maintenance, handling of materials and testing of products at all stages of manufacturing. Our facility has a Hygiene Zoning of manufacturing cleanrooms, designed to maintain temperature, humidity, prevent contamination from environmental particulate matter and microorganisms from receipt of raw materials to despatch of finished products.
- Certified FSSAI/BIS/ISO quality control laboratories for external quality checks. All our product testing is carried out at FSSAI/BIS/ISO 17025 approved labs
Product Safety and Consumer Trust
We follow Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points -- Internationally recognized HACCP system to ensure food safety. This preventive and science based system identifies, evaluates, and controls hazards that are significant for food safety. It covers the entire food production process from raw materials to distribution and consumption. To guide our continuous improvement in food safety, we have established a goal to achieve third-party food safety certification against the independent Foundation for Food Safety Certification [FSSC 22000] Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked scheme.
Allergen Labelling and Management
We understand many of our consumers have food allergies, and we take the necessary steps to make our products safe for everyone. We have allergen management procedures that look at the possible sources of major food allergens, controls in allergen handling and storage practices, training and awareness of the personnel and we clearly include allergen information on our product labels. Use of real-time Allergen Kits to validate cleaning procedures to avoid cross-contact during product changeovers is one such measure to ensure consumer safety.
